
Amy Buttner is a Spanish teacher at North Shore Middle School in Hartland, Wisconsin. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a major in Spanish and a minor in English as a Second Language. In 2003, she received her master’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Ms. Buttner has taught Spanish at the elementary, middle, and high school levels and is a member of the Wisconsin Association of Foreign Language Teachers. She believes in the importance of global experiences for her students and has taken high school students to Argentina and middle school students to Costa Rica.
Ms. Buttner has been actively engaged in integrating technology in her classroom. She is a SMART certified trainer and has trained teachers in and out of her school district. She has also presented on use of the SMART Board at various Wisconsin Association of Foreign Language Teachers conferences. Ms. Buttner has written the Spanish curriculum for students at her school and has also designed accompanying SMART Board lessons for teaching Spanish and ELL, available at IWB Language Lessons.
