Annette began her career as a classroom teacher and then a literacy specialist before becoming Utah’s first Early Childhood Specialist. She then moved into school administration where she served as principal of Geneva Elementary in Utah’s Alpine School District and took special interest in developing best practices in the classroom. To put her evolving techniques into wider practice, Annette moved into full-time site-based staff development in Utah’s Nebo School District. It was there that Annette began to hone many of the coaching and consulting tools found in this book as principals in a variety of districts looked to her for guidance in working with new and struggling teachers. In 2006 Annette moved into the position of Associate Director in the Teaching and Learning Department of Utah’s Granite School District and continues to develop techniques for coaching and consulting. She is forever grateful to her children Tyson and Tawny for their patience with her devotion to her work.
