
A former teacher, Hilarie B. Davis is the president and chief executive officer of Technology for Learning Consortium, Inc. She specializes in developing, supporting, and evaluating student-centered learning environments. With a doctoral degree from the University of Rochester, Hilarie has also served as the director of curriculum and instruction for the Madison School District in New Jersey, an adjunct faculty member at Johnson and Wales University, and a researcher at the federally funded Lab at Brown University. She also served as vice president of curriculum and instruction for Optical Data Corporation where she shepherded the development and implementation of the first multimedia program to compete successfully with elementary science textbooks. She also produced a film documentary about a literacy program which had been implemented in New York City’s District 2. Her workshops and professional development presentations focus on a wide array of topics which include: building a culture of literacy, the questioning reader, teaching and learning in the information age, and higher level thinking for students and teachers. Hilarie is an avid reader, from science fiction to historical fiction to social commentary, and lives with her husband Brad in Rhode Island.
