John Hoyle has written or edited several books and has produced 90 articles and book chapters on school organizational and leadership issues.  He has served as President of the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration, and Chair of the American Association of School Administrators' National Commission on Standards for the Superintendency.  Hoyle served as a teacher, coach and administrator in Midland and Odessa, Texas; he also taught in five universities and in Europe.
