
John received a B.S. degree in mathematics from the University of South Carolina and an M.A.T. degree from the Johns Hopkins University. He taught secondary mathematics for 38 years in Baltimore City and Howard County, Maryland. Courses taught included Algebra 1&2, Geometry, Pre-calculus, AP Calculus, and Differential Equations. He has conducted teacher training workshops for 25 years, helping teachers to engage students using cooperative learning. John lives in Bluffton, South Carolina with his wife, Priscilla. They enjoy their family: daughter Sara, son Jon, daughter-in-law Donna, and grandchildren Luke Andrew, Emma Kate, and Ryan Austin.
