Mike Hibbard specializes in helping school districts use teacher-friendly strategies to create curricula and units of instruction based on state standards, essential questions, and thinking skill verbs. The thinking skill verbs are from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and/or Bloom’s Taxonomy II – the district’s choice.
Mike’s work also includes coaching the development of formative and summative performance assessments for the district’s goals for student performance and the use of data from these assessments to improve leadership, teaching and student performance.
Mike’s work encompasses all disciplines and grade levels and, thus, can help a school district create continuity of curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development across the grade levels and disciplines. Special projects include embedding literacy and 21st Century Skills in all disciplines at all grade levels.
Mike has served as an Assistant Superintendent for twenty-five years specializing in curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development, data-focused decision-making, and long-term strategic planning. He provides consultation services and professional development throughout the United States and in other countries.
