LaVern Burmeister is an educational consultant in the areas of school leadership and developing positive school cultures through building relationships. She has been a K-12 teacher, assistant principal, principal, curriculum director, superintendent, and an assistant professor of educational administration at California State University, San Bernardino.

Dr. Burmeister has had several articles published, including It’s All About Relationships, The Artistry of Communication, and Effective Discipline: Finding the ‘Place in the Middle’. Her book, Leadership Connectors: Six Keys to Developing Relationships in Schools, with co-author, Phyllis Hensley, focuses on communication, support, safety, trust, competence, and continuous renewal as factors in developing positive school cultures.

As a district level administrator and university professor, she has developed a wide variety of workshops and conference presentations on leadership and developing relationships and positive school cultures.
