Pia Hansen has been a classroom teacher for twenty-seven years, teaching students from pre-school to college level. Currently, Pia coaches teachers; modeling lessons, teaming and observing teachers teaching. She also examines student work and collaborates on district and school wide assessment practices.

Pia is the co-author of Performance Tasks and Rubrics for Primary Mathematics with Charlotte Danielson, Buddies, a cross grade mentoring approach to implementing standards published by Eye on Education, and the third grade curriculum Bridges in Mathematics published by the Math Learning Center. She has recently published a new book titled Mathematics Coaching Handbook: Working with Teachers to Improve Instruction.
