Ronald Williamson is a professor of educational leadership at Eastern Michigan University. He previously taught at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and served as a principal and executive director of instruction in Ann Arbor, Michigan public schools. Ron works with schools and leadership teams throughout the nation on school improvement projects and provides leadership coaching to principals as part of the Oregon GEAR UP program. He previously served as executive director of the National Middle School Association, as a member of the Middle Level Council of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and as president of the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform. He received the Gruhn-Long-Melton Award from NASSP in recognition of his achievement in secondary school leadership, the Teaching Excellence Award from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and the Alumni Teaching Excellence Award from Eastern Michigan University.
Ron is the author of articles, chapters, papers, and books in all the major professional journals serving secondary school teachers and principals. He provided direct service to several large urban districts as a leadership coach in projects funded by the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation and the Galef Institute of Los Angeles.
