Susan Nicodemus Gilkey, a mathematics teacher in the Albemarle County Public Schools, has taught mathematics for 22 years. She completed her Masters degree at the University of Virginia, focusing on implementing the NCTM Standards, integrating reading strategies in a mathematics classroom, and using technology to teach mathematics.  She has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Virginia.  With Carla Hunt, she conducts workshops and presents at conferences on implementing block scheduling in a mathematics classroom.
