Thomas Williams

Thomas L. Williams, Ed. D., is currently a professor in the Department of Teacher Education at California State University, Sacramento, California. He has been a professor at California State University, Sacramento since August 1990. Additionally, Dr. Williams serves as Senior Research Associate for the California High-Risk Youth Educational and Public Safety Program-SB 1095. This supplementary assignment is held concurrently with his professorial position at California State University, Sacramento. His responsibilities as Senior Research Associate include providing consultative and technical assistance as well as performing research and evaluation duties for county offices of education and for school districts, to help them implement prevention and early intervention strategies for youth who are seriously at risk of becoming chronic, repeat offenders.

Dr. Williams received his Bachelor of Science from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana, and his Master of Science from Purdue University, Lafayette Indiana. He received his Doctor of Education (Ed. D.) from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California.

He has served as a Director of Compensatory Education, in addition to having been an elementary and secondary school principal. Other professional activities include working as a consultant to school districts assisting with curriculum development; program planning and implementation; preparation of grant proposals; and policy analysis.

Dr. Williams also assists school districts with professional development activities to include school restructuring; program improvement; recruiting, screening, selection and evaluation of administrators and other staff, and so forth. Dr. Williams' resume chronicles the rich background of education, teaching and administrative experience that he has amassed over his professional career. His outstanding achievements as a presenter and writer are heightened by his interpersonal skills and are grounded in the firm value system from which he operates. He is self-motivated, decisive, and has a consuming belief in the potential of every child and adult with whom he works. Regardless of the medium he uses, verbal or written, his underlying message is always the same, "You Can If You Think You Can!"
