ABOUT THOMAS CHENOWETH

Thomas G. Chenoweth, Ph.D. received his doctorate from Stanford University in 1984 and is currently an Associate Professor at Portland State University. A former public school principal and teacher, he is primarily interested in helping school leadership teams find meaning and work through comprehensive school change initiatives. He has recently served as a Satellite Center Director and as a National Policy Advisory Board Member for the Accelerated Schools Project. Currently he is the Program Coordinator for the K-12 Administrative Licensure Program at Portland State. His recent publications, Redefining Faculty Teaching Roles for the 21st Century – Educational Leadership and Administration, (Fall 2000) and Building Initial Commitment to Accelerate – Accelerated Schools in Action, Corwin Press (1996), focus on principal preparation and leadership in school reform environments. Together with co-author Robert Everhart, he provides technical assistance and training to schools and school districts involved in comprehensive school change
