ANITA PANKAKE

Anita M. Pankake, a former teacher, team leader, assistant principal, and principal, is currently director of the doctoral program and professor of edu¬cational leadership at the University of Texas Pan American. Anita holds an undergraduate and master’s degree from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, and her doctorate from Loyola University in Chicago. She authored Implementation: Making Things Happen (1998) and coauthored The Effective Elementary Principal (1991). In addition, she is coeditor of three books, the most recent being Administration and Supervision of Special Instructional Programs (2nd edition). She is an active member of the National Staff Development Council. She serves as president of the Texas Staff Development Council and is a past president of the Texas Council of Women School Executives. Anita and her husband, David, live in Edinburg, Texas.
