Blackburn will present a workshop titled "Rigor
is NOT a Four-Letter Word" for teachers at the Coalition of Essential
Schools Fall Forum taking place November 6-8 in Charlotte, North Carolina. From
the abstract: "We'll discuss the interrelationship of rigor, motivation, and
student engagement, as well as how to incorporate rigor as a regular part of
your instruction and assessment. Through the use of student samples and
simulations, participants will experience practical, immediately applicable
activities across all subject areas."
