About the Author

Dennis Adams is a professor of education who works as an educational consultant in Canada. He is a former Fulbright Scholar who did graduate work at the University of California and Harvard and received a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin. His research and writing projects have focused on topics such as language learning, technological innovation, teacher education, collaborative inquiry, and literacy for diverse populations.

Mary Hamm, a former public school teacher, is currently a professor of education at San Francisco State University. She received a MA degree in environmental education from the University of Wisconsin and her doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado. She has authored or coauthored more than ten books, and published articles in such journals as Science and Children, School Science and Mathematics, and Educational Technology.
