About the Author
Steven E. Stemler is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Wesleyan University and is the current President of the New England Educational Research Organization (NEERO). He received his doctorate in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation from Boston College, where he worked at the Center for the Study of Testing, Evaluation, and Educational Policy and the TIMSS International Study Center. Prior to joining the faculty at Wesleyan, Steve spent four years at Yale University, where he was an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Psychology. His area of expertise is testing and assessment, with a special emphasis on the domains of social, emotional, and practical intelligence; creativity; intercultural literacy; and ethical reasoning.
Damian Bebell is an Assistant Research Professor at Boston College’s Lynch School of Education and a Senior Research Associate at the Center for the Study of Testing, Evaluation, and Educational Policy. Currently, Damian is directing multiple evaluation studies investigating the effects of 1-to-1 technology programs on teaching and learning, including collaborative research with the Boston Public Schools and the New York City Public Schools. Damian’s research interests include the development and refinement of educational tools and methods, education reform, testing, and the impacts of educational technology on teaching and learning.
